General Ratings
Pros
Cons
- GetResponse's visual campaign builder is fantastic. It simplifies the creation of even the most complex campaigns. It is, in our opinion, one of the greatest on the market. It offers everything you'd expect from a high-level email platform.
- The new email builder is also fantastic. The updated builder enables content-rich emails that adhere to current best practices.
- The Funnel Builder, which is a feature released last year, is also an excellent tool. You can create a good customer journey with the GetResponse funnel builder. It's great for lead magnets, list building, etc. but it also has enough features that can be used to lead a customer all the way to the checkout.
- Contact Management: According to 75% of reviewers who mentioned contact management, it's simple to import and categorize contacts, and engaging with clients is also simple.
- No refunds even on annual plans.
- Poor execution of New Features
- Bad Customer Support
- Not impressed with Mobile Apps
- No easy way to edit templates
- Bad API integrations. You will need to be a tech expert to integrate getresponse to your application

4. Convertkit
ConvertKit is a relatively new addition to the email marketing software market. Their product is intended for professional bloggers, podcasters, course developers, and YouTubers. They wish to assist creators in connecting with their audience and earning a living through email marketing.
You may have read some ConvertKit reviews posted by consumers online and discovered a mixed bag of ratings. Our ConvertKit evaluation is methodical and draws on our practical expertise and understanding of hundreds of other simple and complicated marketing automation platforms.
Convertkit appears to have some pretty cool niche characteristics that might appeal to such a target audience.
Key Features
- Email Builder: ConvertKit lets you send the most laser targeted email of all time.
- Email Automation: ConvertKit's marketing automations are unrivaled, especially for the price.
- Forms: ConvertKit provides simple but effective (seeing a pattern here?) opt-in forms. Covertkit forms helps you with great first impression, increase signups, collect email addresses, and create a stronger relationship with your visitors.
- Analytics and A/B Testing: ConvertKit does provide A/B testing on the most crucial element of your emails. Overall, the analytics side is severely lacking, but this is consistent with their "less is more" philosophy.
-
Integrations: ConvertKit integrates with anything you could possibly need, especially as a digital content creator
Stripe for payments
Shopify for everything
Optimize Press the button to capture the lead.
Teachable for online courses
WebinarJam for – you guessed it – WEBINARS
WP Courseware for memberships and course
KingSumo to run giveaways for subscribesThe only drawback is that you must use Zapier to connect to other platforms such as Facebook or PayPal.
Limitations
- Pricing depending on subscribers puts pressure on the email to monetize.
- The public archive is severely restricted (no comments or likes).
- ConvertKit does not have a hybrid model that includes a blog, so you will need a standalone website to get recognized and develop your subscription.
- It can be difficult to locate users who have discontinued subscriptions.
User Experience
ConvertKit’s email editor is extremely disappointing. Given that they were able to provide exceptional capabilities for other elements of developing and managing email marketing campaigns, it’s surprising that the organization didn’t pay more attention to the email editor.
Only a few email and newsletter templates are available, and editing options are limited. You can change the background and content color, font, button color, and style. You must copy and paste a code snippet to personalize the subject line.
There are no choices for preview, spam detection, or spell checking. When compared to Mailchimp or SendPulse, ConvertKit’s email editor falls far short.
ConvertKit employs email tags to handle subscribers rather than lists (the term ConvertKit uses for contacts). You can define the tags (for example, subscribers imported on November 1st) and assign as many tags to a subscriber as you like.
segmenting your clients is essential if you want to give targeted content to specific audiences. ConvertKit allows you to construct segments with as many conditions as you like, excluding and adding consumers based on these criteria.
The landing page and form generation functionality in ConvertKit is fantastic. And, like the rest of its capabilities, it’s presented in a stunning user interface.
Convertkit applies email sequences that are sent automatically when a customer takes a specific action or when another condition is met, such as three days have gone since your last email.
Pricing
ConvertKit offers two paid pricing options, both of which are pricey for what they provide. Its most affordable option is the Creator, which is limited to 1,000 users and costs $25 a month. This strategy excludes reporting. If you want the entire feature set, the Creator Pro plan starts at $50 for up to 1,000 subscribers per month.
General Ratings
Pros
Cons
- Landing page editor: ConvertKit allows you to design easy landing pages even if you don't have your own website. This can be quite useful for social media efforts. There are many appealing landing page themes to choose from, and it's a significant advantage that you can use your own unique domain even on the free plan.
- Flexible user-subscription management: The tagging system makes adding and removing subscribers from processes a piece of cake. Convertkit earned a spot on our list of the top email marketing services for Shopify because of this feature.
- Good deliverables: Their deliverables have constantly been very good in our tests.
- Provide paid newsletters: Converkit allows you to monetise your newsletters by charging your readers for a copy of your newsletter. This can be a wonderful approach to supplement your company's revenue. They also have a "tip jar" option that allows your audience to tip your material, which we believe is a nice touch.
- It's quite pricey: There are more advanced tools (such as Sendinblue) that are less expensive.
- Poor design options: There are only 9 email designs available, all of them are text-based. To obtain better visual outcomes, they should provide more design possibilities.
- ConvertKit is not for non-technologists: There aren't enough templates to get everything up and running in an hour.
- ConvertKit is simple email marketing and list building landing pages. It may provide a bit more.
- The analytics may be more detailed.
Suite Support
The ConvertKit support team is committed to assisting you in earning a living online by providing individual assistance via email, live chat, and our knowledgebase.
- Phone: Automatically capture phone numbers. Integrate your ConvertKit web form with Call Loop to begin building your text message list automatically.
- Email: Provided for all pricing plans, including the free version.
- Ticket: Avaliable
- Training: Live and on-demand trainings to help you use ConvertKit

General Ratings
Pros
Cons
- Extremely powerful automation: One of the most effective marketing automation platforms available. Integrated engagement allows you to combine all of the channels available in an automation. Marketing campaigns, sales follow-ups, SMS messages, and more are all possible. Because of this feature, it is a great email marketing tool for Shopify.

- Free migrations: If you are switching from another email marketing platform, ActiveCampaign will migrate your account for free.
- Steeper learning curve: This may only be regarded a disadvantage if you're looking for a quick and simple email solution. There are simpler email newsletter services available, so if this is all you require, you should seek elsewhere.
- There is no free plan available: Unfortunately, there is no free plan available (only a free trail). There are less expensive alternatives if you need a simple instrument.

- Pricing is flexible, so you only pay for what you need. You simply need to upgrade when your contact list grows.
- Take advantage of Drip's robust tagging functionality to segment your audience and send highly targeted emails.

- When compared to HubSpot or Salesforce, the CRM capability falls short.
- More integrations, particularly e-commerce-related ones. A two-way Pipedrive integration would be enormous.
- The workflow builder is useful, but it may be improved. Drag and drop would be preferable. It would be advantageous to have multiple simultaneous automations on the board. Linking automations in a visual perspective, similar to ActiveCampaign's visual map, would be quite beneficial.
- The ability to save contacts with incomplete information and utilize automation to gradually profile them.
- Integration with reward programs would be extremely beneficial to business.
- Integration with referral services would be beneficial as well.

8. MailerLite
MailerLite is a low-cost email marketing program. The company was established in 2005 and has developed rapidly. Every month, over 800,000 businesses utilize MailerLite. So they’re well-known, but is MailerLite the ideal email marketing solution for you?
MailerLite is a free email mailing software that is simple and effective. They have a good free plan, and even on paid plans, they are less expensive than competitors such as Mailchimp. Automation isn’t as complex as, say, ActiveCampaign, but it’s incredibly effective. We found this email tool to be simple to use and set up.
Key Features
- Send out email marketing campaigns. Create email newsletters, send email promos, or utilize RSS to automatically send digests of your blog material with MailerLite.
- Split testing (A/B). A/B split testing of subject lines, email content, and other variables is used to optimize email campaigns.
- Subscribers segmention. To provide the most relevant communications, "Marie Kondo" your subscribers. You can categorize them based on their attributes (for example, age, gender, nationality), activity (emails clicked, opened), and create lists.
- Expand your audience. Create MailerLite forms and targeted pop-ups on your website to serve as email list builders and gain more subscribers.
- Automation of marketing. Begin with a basic automated welcome email sequence. Alternatively, create a ten-stage, multi-flow-step onboarding procedure for new consumers.
- Excellent pricing and value. MailerLite is fairly inexpensive in comparison to its competitors. You get a lot for your money.
- Solid assistance. All paid programs include 24/7 live chat help to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Create a website and landing pages. MailerLite allows you to create not only emails, but also landing pages, opt-in forms, and (small) websites. They'll even host the event for you.
Limitations
One of its main drawbacks is the limitation on email sending.
- You can only send 12,000 emails each month with the free edition.
- If you need to send more emails per month, you must subscribe to a premium account.
User Experience
Pricing
MailerLite provides a straightforward option: You can send up to 12000 emails every month on the free plan for up to 1000 subscribers, and there is a subscription plan starting at $9 per month for 1000 subscribers. Furthermore, regardless of the number of subscribers, you get all of the benefits, including unlimited emails per month. Furthermore, as your list increases, the cost per subscriber reduces.
General Ratings
Pros
Cons
- A good amount of features are included in their free version, including single trigger automation workflows, a landing page builder and survey maker. This is a reason for naming it a top activecampaign alternative.
- A clean and simple interface makes this a great service for new and advanced users alike. Using MailerLite is in no way overwhelming, as is the case for some other email marketing platforms.
- Automation is unlimited even if you're in the free tier.
- There's always their quick email support. To think I don't pay a single cent using their service yet, they have given so much value back to me already.
- E-mail management and integration with WordPress: elegant, customizable e-mail designs and easy integration.
- In updating their product design, MailerLite has removed the other four langauges it previously included. That said, email support is still avaliable in many laugauges, including spanish, Lithuanian and polish.
- You can have as much as 1,000 subscribers before upgrading with at least 12,000 generous free emails which rolls over monthly.
- Even though it has great prices, you do miss out on a few pro features, such as full reporting, advanced automations, CRM features and spam/design testing
- Unfortunately, you'll need to be on one of the paid plans in order to access the newsletter and landing page templates. you'll also need the advance plan to use the HTML editor.
- Their API does not work and tech support is unwilling to help, plus they ignore refund request
- Integration with the WPForms plugin is missing, forcing many prospective users to signup for a second email provider.
- When something is new or updated, it can be difficult to determine when the change occurred.
Suite Support
- Phone: Available for Essential, Premium or Enterprise plan.
- Email: Provided for all pricing plans, including the free version.
- Ticket: Not Avaliable
- Training: Online email courses to get certified as an email marketing expert.

General Ratings
Pros
Cons
- According to 90% of reviewers who mention this feature, it is feasible to include tables and buttons, check open and click rates, and schedule, personalize, and manage emails.
- Creating and employing pre-built templates, including those for various occasions, aid announcements and sales marketing.
- Constant Contact system helps save and organize contacts in one location, as well as construct emails and events to go out to different groups of contacts.
- More than 95% of people who discuss this aspect say it's simple to use.
- According to 82% of users, the customer support crew is helpful and always available to help.
-
Constant Contact's costs were a major source of contention among reviewers. While the base plan is only $9.99 per month, fees quickly rise depending on how many contacts you have. If you reach 5,000 readers, the standard plan features will cost you $80 per month. Furthermore, some of the capabilities, such as text marketing, are add-ons that must be purchased separately.
- For the first 500 subscribers, the more feature-rich plan costs $45 per month. When you reach 501, your monthly fee rises to $70, with more increases as you progress. Even if you don't start with thousands of subscribers, it may be your objective to acquire that many. In this regard, pricing for smaller businesses might be challenging.
- Even though the user interface is simple, consumers claimed that Constant Contact can be clunky and unresponsive at times, especially when trying to integrate videos. When we evaluated the product, we discovered that connectivity was slower than the digital standard.
- According to 83% of users who have mentioned this issue, the majority of emails received using the platform end up in juck folders or is marked ask spam.
